New...to me.
Howdy,
I just bought a 1986 vfr 750. It has 22000 miles old and I was wondering what sort of problems should I expect to have (assume it was used gently). |

Hello and welcome to the forum! Congrats on your new purchase. I know that some of the first gens had cam oiling problems, but I am not exactly sure what years. Some other folks with more knowledge of early gen bikes will hopefully chime in. MasonV45 is a guru with those old bikes....he is the one with the hot blonde avatar...or maybe that is him??? Hmmmmm....

Welcome to the forum. You shouldn't be worried. Just check the voltage reg/rectfier to see if it has been upgraded. Also check for signs the connections are getting hot. If not just keep an eye on your voltage. Our 86's are the improved versions so no oiling issues or cam chains to worry about. I bought my 86 w/30k on her 6 months ago upto 33k now no issues. Great bikes. Post some pics so we can take a look.
Where are you located?
