Ok, me again

Ok, so once again im looking for any tricks of the trade. My teardown is going painfully slow due to lack of time off but I tackled the carberator today, but once I loosened all the brackets it stayed where it was. I started on the exhaust system and ran into a similar problem and decided to head to the forum before i threw something. Is there something i could get to make this easier. (im going for WD-40 later) all help appreciated as always

Unless someone has a better idea you just have to pull and pry them off. the carbs really are a pain to get on and off. iv been doing it for quite a while lately trying to get mine to work. 86 700. i used a breaker bar and used it to pry them off.

carb cleaning help. youll definatly want to do this.

You have to loosen the brackets(clamps) a lot more than you think necessary.

Take a dull flat ended screw driver and pry out on the boots a little and spray WD-40 in there and wait a couple hours.

I use a piece of 2X4 to push up on the corner of the airbox. Have someone stand on the bike's pegs to keep it on the ground. Wrap the frame where the airbox will impact it.

Heating up the boots with a hair dryer can help.

I tried boiling the rubber, didnt seem to have an effect. just be sure when you are pryin and pullin that you do not twist the carbs too much. that indicates stress. go from one carb to another if they arnt commin off easy.

not that they go on or off easy at all.
