Gutting 87 exhaust
Hey all,
I recently scored an 87 parts bike. One of the things I want to do is take the stock cans on the parts bike and gut them so I can have two sets, stock and loud. Where do I start the gutting process? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

i would say grind the rivet down around the end cap of the exhaust, pry the cap off, and take all the stuff out. keep cap off or put cap back on weld or rivet it back together. you might wanna google or search within the forums here on how to get better sound out of exhaust. Try hondavfr.org. i think they have a write up on how to get better sound out of stock exhaust.

remember: what's "better" sound to you is obnoxious noise to everyone else.....
join a band if you want to be loud!

I wasn't going for obnoxious. I just want something with a bit more of a growl. I have heard sound clips of gutted exhausts and they sounded great without being annoying..
