New Exhaust System Options 86-87 VFRs

In my search for a decent exhaust system for the 86-87 VFRs, I found very little. The model being relatively old, hard to get any parts for the earlier exhasut systems as well. How much interest do folks think there would be in the opportunity to have a new system for these great old bikes? Slip-ons, full exhaust, single canister, dual canister, right or left side canisters? I am thinking of just building my own high quality system for my VFR....

I dunno how much interest you'll drum up, but I'd sure like to see the work if you decide to do it. A how-to would be awesome. I recently bought an 84 VF 500 for my wife and it has supertrapp exhaust on it. Are they still in business? Did you check them for your bike exhaust?

It sure would be interesting to see Bob. I am having the same problem with my 84 VF750F. Not much out there for the exhaust. I have read that MAC still makes a full system for my ride, but I haven't found any yet. I have also considered buying the cans and having the rest built by hand.

I'll keep folks posted and show any development that I do. I really want to put together a nice system for my VFR while still maintaining some retro-styling. Supertrapp was purchased by Kerker I believe, some years ago. I know you can still purchase some parts but that is about it. I currently have Supertrapp slipons but the quality is what I would call...a bit rough.

I am really thinking I will do a 4-2-1 setup, similar to what the RC30 racebike had. Prior to the RC30, Honda (HRC) was using the VFR as a development platform. I saw some very nice exhaust systems during that transition time. I'll probably stay with stainless simply becasue it is easy to work with vs Ti.
