tank

I just bought a tank off ebay for a 84 vf500 with shipping $65.. got to keep looking my friend.

rust in tank. remove tank, drain, put some stones in it and shake the tar out of it. rinse and do it again. then get a quality tank coating. read directions and go for it.

I found a quality, durable epoxy coating: "epoxy gas tank sealer"

www.caswellplating.com

Worked well and easy to use, far better than "Kreem"

I have started buying parts for my VFR. The Honda-direct link I posted on page 1 does not have some parts due to them being discontinued. The radiator hoses, mid fairing stays, and I think the upper cowl dzus fastners are not available from this source. Hope I can find this stuff somewhere.

Thanks, I checked the site out and their prices are the same or a little cheaper. I'll send in an order and see if they have the stuff I need. Dave.

The VFR700 and 750 parts should be interchangeable except some of the colors and stickers. Talk to vfr chuck he can make you a nice white ready to paint full body set for a good price.

he is a hard guy to get ahold of but i finally got mine from him and they are top notch. they fit perfect. stay far far away from spec II. i bought a piece from him and it didn't even look like it was to my bike. lesson learned. the wait is worth it. you just have to be persistent

he might as well not have that site at all, really, as it hasnt been maintained for years and most of the prices listed are outdated anyways. the best option is to give him a call and leave a message with his wife. every time ive done this, i always got a return call. sometimes, you just have to be diligent about reaching him.

Just found this on e-bay. Seems like a new player in the fairing game.

VFR body work on ebay.

Just a heads up for those looking for VFR body panels. I've seen an unusual amount of body parts out there for sale in the last few days. Compared to the amount I've seen in the past, it's almost a flood. I did a search on VFR 700 and went to the "advanced" search to select the ebay stores option as well.

This seems related, even though it's not a body panel resource.
I ordered a set of decals from cbdecals.com the other day, the came in. They were shipped from Canada from a placed called Mach9 Technologies.

Had I known this information before I ordered from CBdecals.com, I would have contacted these guys directly, maybe I could have picked them up cheaper than the $219 price at CB? These guys are obviously their supplier, so...go directly to the source? The decals came with instructions, the instructions have an AFE Graphics brand name. When you go to their web site, they don't list any products for an 87 VFR. Copyright issues with Honda?

Anyway...for those of you who might want to try in the future, here is their information:
Mach9 Technologies Inc.
70 St. Mary's Rd.
Bethany, ON L0A-1A0
Canada
Tel:705-277-9869 Fax:705-277-9015

Just took delivery of a Fiberglass Gas tank from VFRChuck.

I'm working on finishing my electric conversion project and I didn't want the gas tank glued together. He happily sold me a tank, unglued bottom/top ready to mount with gelcoat finish for a very reasonable price. Needs sanding before finishing, but its great work and I'm very happy with the results and his flexibility in selling me an unfinished tank.

I've bought a rear fairing/front fender and solo tail cover from him, all great products.
