There's two ways to do it... The old school way was to lay regular car paint, two colors, three coats each... in between each coat you lay plastic wrap on the paint while it's tacky and tear it off...
House of Kolor now makes what they call marbleizer paint that you can do in two coats... You lay the base coat color then put the marbleizer over that once and then plastic wrap it... It's much easier but the colors are not infinate... Their kinda wierd also because the blue marble is blue but only when it's painted over black... If you spray it over a white base it's pink... Look up House of Kolor on the net, Their paint is insaine and the clear coat looks like it's dripping wet... I'm VERY happy about how it turned out and I've almost got it back together ![]() |

I just puot mine back together, I have an 85 vf1000r. I painted it black using a single stage paint system. I am really happy with the result. just trying to decide on what grafix to put on it. might get the original decals and do a monochromatic look to it. the bike is now all black with a silver frame.

That looks like House of Color Candy... I love the candy colors, that was my problem. I couldn't decide what colors to pick. It took about two weeks or so of sketching before I finally came up w/what I got. I just printed a couple pics off the site of different views and markered over them w/ sharpies until something worked. I've been real happy w/it so far. I washed it today after a night ride home last night, and all the bugs just fell off the clear coat. I wiped it off with a cotton T-Shirt and it was every bit as shiny a the day it came outta the paint booth.

both bikes are looking good...How did you go about doing your fender eliminator mattro? looks somewhat simular to the method i used which was just cutting down the rear fender and reducing it to being nothing more then a plate mount.

he he, I like the dead battery in this last picture.; all these bikes ;look awesome.
The marbled one is just sic looking. I thought I saw the plastic wrap thing happen on one of those discovery channel hotrod shows. Its a really cool effect with paint. Hopefully I can just get mine back into stock color condition./.... I have a set of leathers that matches the re white and blue theme....... gonna have to remove the "other motor cycle name though.......... |

man those paintjobs look really nice guys. pontaic, now what are you gonna do? I was thinking making something with the frame or engine to bring it all into your vision? Are you gonna stay with the white wheels or is chrome or another color in your future?
