1986 VFR700 Front wheel

I just bought a 1986 VFR700 and the front rim is bent, I was wondering if I could use the front wheel off of 1984 – 1985 VF700F Interceptor ( VF700-F / VF700 / VF-700F / VF-700 / VF 700 ) The wheel is on ebay, granted it won't match the back wheel but it is cheap.

Thanks

I don't think so.

1. Per the Firestone Website, the tires use different tires so that leads me to believe the rim widths are different

2. The '83-85 Ceptor Axle is 15mm - while the '86 is 20mm.

3. The rotors are completely different.

A CBR 600 F2 rim will work, there are several good posts on the subject. You can also put the F2 rear on as well.

But with the F2 wheel i run into the issue with the brakes, I can just unbolt the brake discs from the vfr wheel to the cbr wheel? or is there another way to solve the issue?

Thanks

I misspoke the Hurricane 600 rim is a direct replacement, uses the same speedo drive & has the correct caliper spacing. See the attached VFRwiki link it should have all the answers to your questions & then some.

Thanks for the info, that wheel is a bit pricey, there was a vfr750 front wheel with a like new Metzler tire that didn't sell for like $90 shipped to my door. I just have to find a way to contact the seller even though the auction ended.
