Cortech Soft Luggage Rack

For all of you that have, or are considering, Cortech full size saddlebags, I have made up a rack/spacer for an '07 to keep them away from the mufflers. Mine were not burning, but they were getting warmer than I was comfortable with.

I gave up trying to find anything store-bought, as the closest thing I could find that may have worked were some hard bag mounting brackets for about $150.

It is made from 1/2" EMT electrical conduit (I already owned the tubing bender). It works very well, but unfortunately looks just like galvanized electrical conduit. I think some sanding and black paint are in the near future.

Anyway, if anybody has any interest in seeing it, I can take some pictures and come up with approximate dimensions. A good electrician can do the initial bending without a lot of fuss. If I can do it, a qualified person should have no trouble at all...

Total cost, with hardware and tubing, is about $10.

It really doesn't look that bad, and it comes off easily.

I haven't heard "EMT" since taking my Elctrical |Training pre 19??. And believe it or not, that pipe bender thingy is actually called a hickie.

Just a did bit of info thought you might like to know.

And by all means, pix would be great cause I was thinking about doing something similar.
