Just purchased axio tank bag, it's magnetic but it also has straps, though I only use the strap that goes around the head tube for added security. It also converts to a back pack for ease of carrying when of the bike.

Nelson Rigg.
Has 2 side pockets and is not too big nor too small.
Comes with rain cover and straps to make it a back pack.
Very nice. Will post pics later.

Consider a magnetic tank bag. I have an '05 and use a Nelson-Rigg magnetic bag that works fine. It doesn't mar the paint and is easily removed and replaced to access the gas cap.

Remember that magnetic mount tank bags and ATM cards aren't compatible..

Magnets won't affect credit cards

I pulled this quote from another thread but it is relevant for this thread

Has anyone actually had credit cards go bad from carrying their wallet in a mag tank bag?

Ruined credit cards? Well, no...but a moose once bit my sister. She was carving her initials into it with a Swedish carving knife her Uncle Sven gave to her...(Sorry! Monty Python gibbersih just pours out of me at times...)

There must be some mounting points that I'm missing. Is there a tread with pics of mounting points?
I use Oxford bags.. mini sprint magnetic tank bag for quick trips it holds little stuff and i keep my extra visors in it cause i ride to work at day and leave at night.. and i use the humpbacks for long journeys i can get enough stuff in there for bout 4 days.. and yeah you can look right over it no problem. i just used it on my trip to deals gap and it doesnt feel top heavy or want to fly off the bike..

This is a semi decent pic of my Fieldsheer. Low profile, magnetic, easy on/off.

The key to scratch resistance is to wipe off the bottom of the bag every time you take it on/off. This keeps the dirt from marring the paint.
