Hard Bag Question No Handles

I was wondering if the hard bags would work without having the handles, seeing as how I don't have any? If so how would it look?

no passenger grab handles on my Gen 5. But the tubular mounts for the hard bags are perfectly placed to be used as hand holds. I've been considering putting "grips" on them.

You should be able to get the brackets on no problem. Might have to get shorter bolts, where it bolts in to the handle location. Because the 4 that come in the kit, are longer to go through the handles. One of the holes would work no matter what, but the other hole, bottoms out, and can't get away with the long bolt. But I have ran mine without the passenger handles a few times.

BTW, where did you get the plug that fill the opening, when the handles are removed?

Thanks for the info, oh how did it look without the handles? Big gapping hole or does the plate cover it. And to answer you question the bike came with the plugs to cover the holes from the previous owner. I myself have no idea about where he got them, but I will ask and get back to you.

Superceptor02, the bike looked ok, the racks don't completely cover the opening. Also, there's a little rubber peice that goes in between the bike and handles to seal the opening. Helps keep water and stuff out with the racks installed. If you don't ride in the rain, I wouldn't worry too much. With the grab handles there, you hardly notice the luggage racks and it's a little cleaner looking. Without the handles, you see the top plate with the 2 bolt heads. Not as clean a look, but from a distance can't tell. My handles are usually on the bike, since I do a lot of two up riding. Just recently I was messing with the exhaust, and had everything off the bike, and left the handles off, looks smooth. But if you're near the bike, not so smooth, with the big holes.
