Hard Bag Cords

I have an 06 VFR with OEM hard bags.
When the side bags are opened, there are nylon cords that keep the side lid from falling down all the way. These cords keep the side lid, when opened, about 90 degrees from the full up/locked position.
The cords on mine have frayed and broken.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Is there a way to get replacement cords?

You should be able to get some nylon string from any hardware store and fabricate them yourself. Just be sure to make them all the same length. A replacement cords will cost you a lot more then DIY cords. If I were fabricate them I might make them a little longer so that loading and unloading my helmet would be easier.
Good luck!
