TCX Competizione S Boots - Motorcycle Superstore
I got my new boots today. I've already done nearly 250 miles in them. I will have my Wife take some pics of me wearing them on & off the bike. I got the boots pictured above, the Competizioni S, Black, sz 44. I paid $280 from my local dealer who gives me a Military & MSF discount.
Highs:
Quality Is Top Shelf
Fit Me Like A Glove (it truly feels like they made these boots for me)
Built On Lasts (this is what separates the low end crap from "real" boots)
Needed Like 15 Minutes Of Break In time (I literally forgot they were on my feet after about an hour)
Actually Not Too Bad To Walk In (you just look kinda silly walking like a duck)
Look Good (this is purely objective, I just know I like the way they look)
Torsion Control System (this really does prevents "point-of-no-return" motion & injury, you can't make your foot go farther unless you structuraly fail the boot)
Sole Isn't Slippery
MOST Of The Features I Wanted (see Lows below)
Replaceable TCS, Heel Slider & Toe Slider (available in several colors)
Replaceable CALF SLIDER (The calf slider?Who the hell leans that far?)
Available In 4 Colors
Lows:
Not ALL of the features I wanted (isn't sticking to a budget a pain? read on)
No inner bootie (the magic figure for that is the $400 mark)
No ventilation (it was 90f in NJ today my feet where definitely warm, but not uncomfortably hot)
Walk Like A Duck (after all, these are race boots)
Conclusion:
One of the best boots in the $250 - $300 range. All in all, I am more than happy with them. For a numerical rating, I would say 7 out of 10. Track days here I come.

Pretty nice lookin' pair of feetz covers....my guess is that I wouldn't be hoping to wear out the calf slider any time soon....but then again, I'm no motogp racer either.

Nice KC.....I recently went with the A* SMX5, so far so good. I looked at some more race oriented boots but decided that will be later on maybe. Thanks for the review, it is helpful when a guy is looking around to get a little warning on the up and downsides. The A* s were about 220.00on sale at my local Cycle Gear store. Probably could have had them slightly less online but if someone doesnt buy shit now and then from the local store they'll probably quit and find something else to do.

My boots are fully broken in. Everything I've said previously is still true. While I wouldn't recommend boots like this for everyday riding, I am more than happy with them. They do squeak slightly, but I can easily live with that considering the protection the offer compared to normal riding boots.
If you have "normal" feet & not skinny Euorpean feet, these boots will not disappoint you.
