hard saddlebags
just bought a 2003 vfr w topcase and found used side bags but i don't have the installation instructions for either bags (topcase or side)
I removed the topcase but am unsure how to install top and side bags together , does anyone know where I could find the installation instructions on the net or from a helpful vfr owner thanks |

What kind of saddlebags? Every kind is different. There may be a rack you don't have.
If you don't know what they are, post a picture, maybe someone can identify them and advise. |

Hello
If the bags you have are the Honda OEM ones I can help you out. I have the instructions and could scan them for you and send them by email if you want. |

Thanks, mate!
I went to the dealer and they still had the instructions for my stuff! It turned out they also had those rubber spacers to go with the passenger grabs when only using panniers! So, I won't be needing those instructions, 'cause I got the originals! But, thanks again!

Hey guys, if any one has those instructions scanned can you please post them or e-mail them to me.
I just picked up OEM hard side bags and the top case with the brackets for my 06. The guy did not have installation instruction so I'm lost on how to install them thanks all |

If you have any questions, just ask. I've got the OEM bags on my 06 as well. I've also got the shop manual as well, so if you need torque settings not listed on the instructions, drop me a line. |

VFR top box mount
Quote:
I am just getting a new vfr 800and it coms with a full set of hard luggage. my question is, looking at the top box rack it has 4 bolts that seem to hold it on? is it as easy as removing these bots and putting the grab handles back with the same bolts? if so I will do this as the top box spois the lines of the bike. |

Assuming that you are talking about the Honda luggage, there should be a bracket that mounts from where the grab handles are. You can either remove the box and bracket from this point, for I beleve that you can remove the box from the bracket and leave the bracket on in case you want to be able to reinstall it quickly.

VFR topbox bracket
Hi
Thanks for your repy! Yes they are OEM honda topbox and panniers I have. I am thinking of removing the topbox bracket all together as it looks quite easy, ie there appears to only be 4 bolts that hold it on. Would be gratefult o any one who has fitted this rackand has the instructions to confim that all this is correct or not. I noticed someone mentioned a spacer to re attach the grab rails when using the side racks is this all ready in place with the full istallation or do i need to get these from the dealer? |

Someone else will have to chime in here. I don't own the topbox, side cases or grab handles so I really don't have anything else to offer here. I know there are some scanned copies of the installation instructions around here somewhere...

Hi folks. I've just bought an A5 VFR today and it has the full Honda luggage fitted. I'm also interested in the fitting instructions if anyone could point me in the right direction? I just wanted to know how to take them off when I don't need them. Do they have some kind of quick release that I can't see?

Keager
I believe you will find this refers to a 2005, VFR800 with ABS. As in VFR800A5, A5 for short. Actually a very definitve description. VFR800, with ABS, 2005. VFR8002 is a 2002 non ABS. Clever. Check out some European parts ads, such as David Silver Spares. You will see this reference. |

The removal of the side bags is quite simple. Some folks have written about the side bags falling off. This can't happen if you attach the bag properly to the mounting brackets and check that the locking mechanism is engaged and the key removed. Riders responsibility! Should be part of your preride check. |
