02 VFR Heat Resistant Covers??

I just installed a Staintune exhaust on my 02 VFR. Now I worried of burning through my Dowco cover since this exhaust gets much hotter. Also wondering if anyone has seen a cover with the aluminized, heat-resistant part up top since many bikes now have the high-mount exhausts?

On a similar note...how does soft luggage hold up to heat from those pipes?

I put a cover over mine, and it hasn't been a problem.

Do you let your Staintunes cool off for a few minutes?

Re: 02 VFR Heat Resistant Covers??

Sorry mates. I don't have that problem. I can reach down and grab my Scorpion carbon fiber pipe at anytime and not be burned. ;) Stays nice and warm but that's it.

Sorry, had to throw in my two cents. I'll go now. 8)

Re: 02 VFR Heat Resistant Covers??

Yeah, guess that is one of the disadvantages of a SS system. Even my titanium Yosh pipe on my SV650 got hot enough to burn a hole in my current Dowco cover. Strangely, it's usually just warm to the touch after riding, so it may have been the hot gasses melting the hole. Hmmm...
