Quick Detach Hardbags?
I am very new to this and am just looking for some help. I was wondering if there is some sort of quick detach setup for hardbags for the VFR 800. Thanks for all the help you can give.

Givi has the luggage you want!
I installed the Givi side luggage on my 06 VFR and I love them. The directions come in Italian and were more that a little confussing. However, after scratching my head for about an hour, everything went just were in was suppose to. I also installed the trunk on the back. Now this is another story. If I need to carry the wife and overnight stuff it is excellent. At low speeds it does cause the handle bars to wobble if you take your hands off. Now if you leave your hands on the bars, like ya should, then there is no handling issues worth mentioning.

Thanks so much guys. That is the way I was leaning (Givi). However, I wasn't sure how easily they detach. If they come off easy for that clean look riding around town then they would be perfect. Thanks again guys.

IMO the givi's are fugly. The factory bags look a million times better and the detach very quickly. BTW, the factory bags are made by givi so the quality is there, but you get much better looking luggage.

I have the factory bags. They come off very easily. It's nice to have the option when you're touring. To bring the liner's (which hold all your stuff) in with you into the motel room. You buy the factory liner's separately - and they look like a gym bag - and slip into the hardbags. Or another option is to just pop off the hard bags and bring those in. The hard bags lock - so I'm not worried about leaving them outside with the bike over night. So - I usually just bring the liners in with me. Another terrific thing about the hard bags is the room. The side bags hold a helmet each and the top bag holds two helmets. I purchased the factory bags because of these factors. Pricey - yes - but made for this bike. I find the two side bags and the top bag for a long trip - more than enough storage for what I need. And very easy to use.

Factory Hard Bags
Are factory bags available to match the 07' red, white, and blue bike?

I have heard rumor that they have made an all blue model to match the blue in the new '07 but have yet to see it or get a diffinitive answer. I'm hopefully getting the new 07 if I can get the approval (not credit). As a result I hope to soon see the new factory bags.

I have a givi topbox, 46l job. It comes off with a button push. There is a bit of hardware left behind, but it's not too bad.
