Help in locating a 12v Power Outlet

Guys, help me out. I've been to Tractor Supply Co, Radio Shack, Auto Zone, Wally World, O'Reily, & Napa, but I'm unable to locate a Dash Mount 12V Power Outlet. I'm looking for the kind that attaches with a lock nut from the back.
I've already installed a Powerlet BMW type socket, but I want to install a 12v next to it.
The kit that Powerlet sells is approx.$40.00. There has got to be something cheaper out there.

Again, any mods/links or pictures of your install would be great.

They have the powerlet kits, and some a mount anywhere 12v socket, like the one in your car. The powerlet one is nice, because it mount in your steering stem. Or purchase and adapter from the powerlet-to-12v socket. But I ran the 12v socket on my old bike for about a year, then sold the bike, but used it for charging the cell phone or any other acc. I think the main thing to do, is I wired in a relay with a Key "on" source. So if anything gets left hooked up, it won't kill your battery. But when I lookd before, there isn't much out there, and as you did, I couldn't find anyone locally that sold anything.

Da "Soul Glo" is just $19.99 anytime you need it bruddha! How much you needs depends on how shiny/greasy you want to be!

I got my 12 volt socket at aerostitch....has a nice spring loaded cover.

Yeah, I looked at that one, but again, not sure where I would mount it since it's not flush/panel mount. But I do appreciate the "GLO"!

Wolf, this is what I have installed now, like you mentioned above. I just hate to spend another $30/$40 for something that you can make for around $10. If I could just find the type with a lock nut behind it, I can do the wiring and inline fuse with no problem.

I didn't know you wanted it on the instrutment cluster....I mounted mine underneath the seat. I guess it depends on what you are using it for where you what to locate it. GPS, heated vest, etc...

Wolf, Thanks for the link. I was about to order it, but I can't tell if it's the BMW type plug or "Cigar" (the one I need) type.

Wolf, that's what I was afraid of. I went to Powerlets website, and that model number is not the "cigar" type. Unless I'm missing something, I don't believe that will work with a regular accessory plug like that of a cell phone or GPS unit.

benjammer, sorry about that. I miss read what you had said you were looking for. I've never seen a 12v (cigarette) socket that went in the panel, like the powerlet. That would be nice. Why not just get an adapter, to go from the powerlet-to-cigarette style?

I always buy mine at a boating supply store. They generally sell water proof ones.
