Ping Derstuka-Givi E21

I just got a set of Givi E21's today for my 5th gen. If I recall correctly, I saw some photos of your bike recently with these bags on it from Joshua Tree.

I bought these primarily for taking the briefcase and laptop to work during commuting, but it looks like they would be plenty of capacity for 2-3 days away on the bike. What's your experience? Are they roomy enough for a set of clothes, street shoes, toiletries for a three day weekend getaway?

Oh, others can pipe in here, too....wouldn't want to exclude anyone!

Yeah PC, I fit in exactly as you said pretty much. When I went to Joshua Tree, I didn't know if I was gonna go farther, so I packed some stuff. I had extra clothes, rain gear, shoes, food, electric air compressor, and some misc stuff. They sure are handy to have, and you can just pop them off and carry them around like a briefcase. If you pack light and smart, and use a tankbag as well, you should be plenty fine for space wherever you go...especially for 3 days.

You happier with the looks of the new mounting hardware from what you had? Please do post some pics if/when you are able to.

BTW, I kinda like how they open topside as opposed to on the side.

Regarding mounting hardware, the bike came with a Givi Wingrack 2.

The bike when I bought it came with a full set of Givi luggage, including a 50L Maxia top case, and two E360 40L side cases, but the E360s are kinda big just for commuting purposes. I will pretty much only use them when on a full-on road trip, or if I decide to carry my camera gear on the bike to events I cover when the season is underway. The wingrack 2 certainly makes a bit more intrusive appearance than the tubing style, but it does provide a very solid mounting system.



I agree that one of the nice features of the E21s is that they open from the top. Having them will let me carry the weight of the laptop and briefcase down lower than my having to carry them in my top box to work, which is why I primarily bought them, but they look like they will be just the ticket for a holiday/weekend away as well. Being able to mix 'n match with the top case and the E21's gives me even more flexibility if needed.

Actually thinking of getting a smaller top case. Givi makes a new one that looks like ballistic nylon luggage. The top partitition has a padded compartment for a laptop, and the bottom has a larger compartment with enough capacity for a weekend's set of clothes. The nice thing about it is that it has wheels and a handle so you can use it as a roll-about as well. Pretty cool. That and the E21's plus a tank bag should provide plenty of capacity for a 3 or 4 day long weekend getaway.

Hello, I'm want to buy givi E21 side cases, there Givi Monokey E21 hard motorcycle luggage cases I see that it cost 169$ of the pair. It can be mounted on PL side-case holders or on a WINGRACK. I found mounting type that would be without top cases mount. It's N151 Wingrack and Y161 Wingrack Fitting Kit.
