1986 VF1000R Completes Collection

After 6+ years of searching, I have finally found the very elusive VF1000R to complete my 1986 collection. The bike I found is exactly what I was looking for. It is completely stock, has no modifications and has less than 3400 miles on the odometer. There are a couple of easily repairable light scratches on the front fender and fork, but the bike is easily a 9.5 / 10.

As with my '86 500 and 750, I plan to tear the bike down to the frame and completely detail it. I expect to take my time and it will probably take me a couple of years. I plan to post some pictures of the bike (before tear down) in the coming weeks. When I am done, it WILL be a 10.

I am so happy to finally acquire this fine machine and to close out the '86 line up. For those "in the know", Honda did make an all white VFR700F in 1986, but it is basically the same bike as the VFR750F. The RWB color scheme of the 750 is way nicer, so I consider this collection complete.

Congrats! I've been looking for another R, but something requiring some work because 1) I'm not into 'stock' and 2) I'm cheap. Keep us up to date on the progress.

Nice.. if I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, a thread like this is worthless without photos.

You've shamed me into it. Here it is. It will look much better once I'm done with it. I plan to clean it up over the next couple of weeks and will post some more photos then.
