Help bike fell over
I have a 2007 RWB and the left fairing and left side of front fairing are scratched up pretty bad. What are my options for replacing or fixing them and keeping the RWB?

Hey, I'm a fellow '07 RWB owner as well. Man I hate to hear that about your bike. I'm just curious how did it happen?

Some dealers are willing to match those guys prices if you walk in with a print out off the websites and save you shipping. My part guy kids me that he wants to hide if he sees me with a print paper when I come in. Good luck, MD

Jeebus, man. The same thing happened to me (new tires - woohoo).
It's way cheaper to replace the fairing lower than fix it (sanding, filling, 3 different colors + a decal). Note that if the damage to the upper fairing is restricted to the red/white bottom part, all you need is the decal (sand the underlying plastic smooth before applying, if scratched up). The upper fairing is just blue-painted plastic and all the red&white stuff is a decal. Use the "wet method" to apply. You can get the part# here: Cycle Parts Nation | Arctic Cat OEM Parts | Can-Am (Bombardier) OEM Parts | Honda OEM Parts | Honda Marine OEM Parts | Honda Power Equipment OEM Parts | Kawasaki OEM Parts | Sea-Doo OEM Parts | Ski-Doo OEM Parts | Suzuki OEM Parts | Yamaha OEM Parts Select "VFR800 2AC (07)" from the HUGE list of Honda models, go to the "Marks" section. or use SKU 64222-MCW-K40ZA honda code 8561508

Thanks folks - it hurts everytime I look at it. I'm in OKC for work and the corporate apartments where I stay have an electronic gate. I can't get the motorcycle to set off the sensor to open the gate so I have to get off the bike and walk around to the front and punch in the code. Well, I was walking away from the bike and I heard it crash so either I didn't set the kickstand all the way or it rolled forward off the kickstand (It was on a slight downhill and I have lowered the bike a little) I need a new mirror and shift lever as well but that's just a quick trip to a motorcycle store. Thanks aain for the replies - I'll check out the links.

Sorry to hear about the tip over. That stinks. colorrite.com has the touch up paints in the Honda OEM colors if the damage isn't too bad. I found the touch up paints tricky to use probably because I wasn't atking my time and I"m don't have much paint experience.Probably did roll downhill slightly letting if come off the sidestand. Generally in this case it is probably best to shut the bike off in first, let clutch out, let bike roll forward until it stops, then put down sidestand and dismount. Then it can't roll forward off the sidestand and tip over, and rolling backward a little bit if that happens won't make the sidestand fold up. Then when you hop back on after entering the gate code, you can just put up the sidestand, pull in the clutch, hit the starter button and you're on your way. |

Fell over? Was the key in it and were you anywhere near it?
Happened to me once with a 500 Interceptor. I called Progressive and they said "if you weren't there and it wasn't running, that's not an accident and has no effect on your insurance premium" Effectively telling me I had nothing to do with it. They handed me a check and said "have a nice day". New bodywork and new mirror and new muffler and new.... |

Not to mention the insurance company will tell me I have file a claim with my company since I'm here on business - had this happen when I was rear ended in a rental car once. I'm going to have to just suck it up and pay out of pocket. Today I'm just going to buy a lever and mirror - enough to get riding again and then see what I can do about the plastics and what it will cost. It seems like the perfect time to get some Pazzo levers but I don't know if I can find them locally and I don't trust the mail here - I've had things "disappear".

Well, I decided to order the Pazzo's so I'll be watching the mail like a hawk. I ordered red shortys with a blue lever. Here's an amusing pic of what my current clutch lever looks like now.
