Looking for a VFR my handle says it all ! HELP
Hi all, new here. Came to the USA 12 months ago from the UK. Has taken 12 months to get throught the BMV red tape to get the learner permit for the car, then the car endorsement and finally the motorcycle endorsement
. 12 months without a bike has been HELL ![]() Anyway I'm now in the market for a set of wheels (only 2 wheels), know what I want based on past experience (had a Honda CB600 Hornet and CBR600FSF4 in the UK before moving here) a buddy of mine had the VFR800 and WHAT A MACHINE! so . . . . . I'm in the market or such a machine. What do I find but they are rare as a used macine (too damn popular LOL). Only 6 total on ebay for te whole USA and none in my local dealers. So my questions any ideas where I can look. Does anyone know someone with a VFR800 for sale within say 200 miles max of Fort Wayne, IN. 2 wheel freedom is so now so clsoe again it hurts. Help put me out of my misery ![]() |

Welcome,
Ebay always has a few, the classifieds here as well. The one where I have seen many great deals lately is here http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/i...p?showforum=80 There was a beautiful 07 RWB with very low miles which I saw the day after I bought my 06. same price but the color I wanted!! ALWAYS happens that way. I think you can find one pretty easily. Also check Cycletrader.com , you can do a search within the desired distance of your home. Good luck. Mike |

I was gonna mention craigslist also. I know that I saw in Portland two brand new 25th anniv editions... You might be able to work a dealer-to-dealer xfer kind of deal. I am sure there are some bikes closer to you, though.

Coming from the UK, how does American "beer" sit with you? I tell you, that is one thing the USofA has not been able to do adequately.
I was going to mention CraigsList but since someone else did, I felt like talking about beer. KC-10 FE out... ![]()

Welcome, Id say try Cycletrader good bet for used if you cant find what you want in used and would buy new then go to local honda dealership that you like best and have them do a dealer to dealer tranfer for you. Because VFR's are not US mainstream popular like pure sportbikes dealers either dont order them or get just a few for the year. In my experience a dealer would be happy to tranfer it to get it off their hands to your dealer. Good luck.
PS if you go new may wanna wait and see if honda has new VFR 1000 V5 for 09 like MSN says. But who knows maybe just mis info I ll believe it when my Dealer says yep wanna order one. |

All, thanks for the great info - I am making progress now, hope to be VIVFRing soon :)
KC-10 it aint all bad (the beer that is) Sam Adams is pretty OK, BlueMoon works and Fat Tire (ah that ones Belgian). OK it ain't Speckled Hen or 6X, flat and warm on a cold wintersd night in a cosy English country pub with the real fire roaring but it passes. All, also open to suggestions on good US beers that match up by the way, a VFR and 2 wheels isn't the only passion a man is allowed to have, is it? |

Well, the search is over
. After a number of close calls for a VFR and having lost out on 2 good used machines by literally minutes, I’ve taken a bargain of a different kind. A CBR600F4i. The stress of the used VFR sarch was getting too much I had one before leaving the UK and when this one came up. 80 miles from home, 2005 model, 5000miles, for $5k (plus gear) it was too good too pass by. So I have wheels and that is good, still want the VFR so my handle and membership here does not end. You never know maybe in the next 12 months Honda will release the illusive VFR1000 and generate a more plentiful VFR800 used market. If they do then the CBR600 will be up for trade in. My heart is still in the VFR place. |

Congrats on Bike, Looks real clean, sure you will have loads of fun on it. Heli bars or lsl handle bars do wonders for its comfort level if you want that sort of thing. Enjoy and hope you have many safe miles on it.

Looks nice. You should be happy to scream around for a while and appreciate the longer trips even more when you do get the VFR.
It's still a Honda, so that's cool.
