A good deal?
Hello, I am in my search for a used 98-01 VFR with low mileage. As we all know these are hard to come by. I have found a 98 vfr at a local dealer. The bike has under 12k miles. It has three seats, stock, gunfighter and lady and a solo seat with rear cowl. It also has a heli bars, two brothers exhaust and possibly a PC. The bike looks like its in excellent shape for a 98, no scratches or dings that are noticeable. The deal said they would give it to me for 4800 cash, a lil more than I wanted to spend but for such a nice bike I am thiniking about it. Would you buy this bike?

I think he already showed interest. But I would recommend you ask them that 4500 is it with tax tags and whatever other fees that get stuck on. this drops the price of the bike drastically and you don't have topay for all those other fees
we did that with the truck m friend just bought. got the dealer to drop the price of the vehicle 4000 bucks they tend to lower the price if you do cash to. not a check but cash |

That price sounds close to what you should probably pay for it if it is in really good shape. Kelly Blue Book says $4555 for my area at least. I looked for a 98-01 for a while but ended up with an 04 ABS with 4700 miles for 5K. I was ready for any vfr800 that was in great shape for the right price. Good luck!

Finding a 98 with 12k on the clock, is a bargain in its-self, which is the reason why it is worth top dollar. Just buy it. In 5 years time, when you still own the bike, what's a couple of hundred dollars. Its not worth the time thinking about it. Buy it already.

I bought a 98 for 4300 a few months ago . It had 11.5k on it and lots of extras. I looked for about four months to find it and had to drive 2.5 hrs and trailer it back. I say buy it.

With all the add-ons and relatively low mileage yeah I'd say that's a good deal. I bought mine with 1,750 miles and upgraded exchaust for 5 grand.

Yes, that is a good deal... especially with three seats to go along with it. Isn't a good deal anytime you have the money and want something bad enough?

Hi Guys
Just to put an international perpective on this,I bought my '98 here in NZ just on 12 months ago from a dealer with 18km on the clock and paid US equivalant of $5600.It's a stocker import from Japan without a single scratch.I have 35 km up on it now and have put a carbon fibre Kerker on it and it has turned it into a "wild beast" |

Buy it, you won't regret it
3 years ago I passed on a yellow 2000 vfr with 4300 mi on it cause it was $5400. I was too cheap to buy it and I have regretted it ever since.

I think you should not buy it. No way, no how... Where is that dealer again? ;)
Seriously, though, it's a little higher than I'd like, but it probably wouldn't stop me from getting it if I really wanted it. IMO the 5th gen is when Honda put out the bike that suits me best. It is sporty enough to run with damn near anyone and touring enough to ride all the way from CA to WA and back in one week give or take with lots of twistys thrown in for fun. (I can back that up with pictures)
