Rock the Gear
Who here has not heard of the "Road Rash Queen", Brittany Morrow?
I had the opportunity to meet her and even went on a group ride with her (and buds with a local group I am part of). Brittany is working with the MSF and gear companies (and others) to promote the use of protective gear. Please check out Rock The Gear Posted at the bottom of each page: Rock the Gear is a national, not-for-profit web campaign funded by the www.msf-usa.org Motorcycle Safety Foundation through the National Agenda for Motorcycle Safety.

Right on. Good to see her back on a bike and supporting the right things. She seems like a pretty tough chick.

I hadn't heard of her. Thanks for the post. I have to say that one great thing about this site is its advocacy of wearing the right gear. Hell, sometimes I even wear it when I am reading some of the posts here.

It makes it even more impressive having a medical perspective on her treatment and recovery. Your skin doesn't just grow back from that kind of injury. It is very much like a burn. The scarring is extensive. The scars do not stretch like healthy skin. It is a long, painful and very psychological recovery. I imagine even more so for a beautiful young girl having to deal with being permanently disfigured.
Skin is best in its' original form in its' original configuration. If anyone would like to experience a small bit of this, take your knuckles and drag them heartily across any paved surface. Then take the results and multiply by a thousand.

I've never heard of the "Road Rash Queen". But, I'm glad to see her, and the site, up and running. Can't have too much safety promotion out there in our sport. Thanks...

Brittany very kindly allowed us to use her material for our campaign in South Africa.
If you ever see her again, please do me a big favour. give her a big hug and tell her it is from Stranger and the THINK BIKE crowd in SA. She has probably saved lives she does not know. Fantastic girl. THINK BIKE! Anyone interested in starting a "Think Bike" campaign in the states, let me know. |

I'm sorry. That website is stupid.
Common sense prevails amongst everything. |
