hmmmm
I was reading the 5th gen review posted here and wonder if anyone else noticed this......
"At the Honda Hoot in 2000, I asked a Honda tech if there was something wrong with my bike. "No," he said. "They just run hot." "Well," I said, "I've started running Mobil One 20-50 V-Twin, and it seems to cool it off a few degrees. Is it OK to run that?" "That's the right oil," he said." I wonder.....hmmmmm

Depends on the temps that one rides in. Thicker/higher viscosity oil is not as good of an idea if you are starting your bike up in cold temps frequently. The motor would be starved for oil as it struggles to get the thicker oil following....resulting in more internal engine wear. If it is summer time, or you live in a year round warm climate, then it would be ok to use. IMO of course...

Maybe technically an oil thread yes, but really about if it lowers the engine temperature. Seeing as there have been so many temp related threads and this is quoted from a Honda tech it got me wondering.

I may actually agree with JoeyDude, or was it MelloDude, that said change your thermo every coupla years. That and a good flush have made a world of difference on my bike.
