clutch problems frozen or stuck?
the clutch lever is real hard to pull-in. Actually it seems like the clutch is not disengaging--no movement of the clutch springs; but the weird thing is while engine is running in neutral
pulling in the clutch kills the engine. To try and fix/troubleshoot I have bled the clutch--no difference; pulled the slave cylinder (the piston does move freely by squeezing the lever with the slave off the bike) I pulled the side cover and inspected the clutch disks, and none of them are stuck. with the engine off, I am able to shift through all of the gears and back into neutral. the long pushrod from the slave cylinder to the clutch moves freeley (once either the slave or clutch basket is removed) I just can not figure this one out.

When you say pulling in the clutch "kills" the engine, is it a slow death or immediate?
So the motor is running with no issues. You pull in the clutch lever and the motor dies? Does the motor start when the bike is in gear?

the harder i pull on the clutch, the more it "bogs down" the engine, ultimately until it dies.
The engine runs great-no issues there. I tried starting the motor in gear but there must be a neutral safety switch or something because the starter motor only turns-on in neutral.

Well I don't know what to say about that one. What on earth would cause a motor to bog just by pulling in the clutch?
So you can't start the bike? In gear > Clutch pulled in > Kickstand up? Something doesn't add up here.

finally figured it out-the locknut which holds down the clutch center
came loose, so the whole basket was pushing against the side cover. put it all back together and it now works!
