Dyna Beads - Tire Balance

Hey everyone - Just heard about this product called Dyna Beads. Some type of ceramic beads you put into your tires which balances the tires as they rotate. These beads will migrate to the unbalanced portion of the tire due to centrifical force and balance the tire. Supposed to be the best thing since peanut butter and jelly! Check out the web site. They sell this product for all types of tires including the big rigs. Supposedly eliminates cupping and extends tread life because the tires are always in balance regardless of how they are wearing down. I called my local stealership where I bought my VFR and they said they are an excellent product, they've been selling them for quite some time and have had good results and no customer complaints. Anybody out here in VFR land ever hear/use these?

Just pull the valve stem out and inject some Slick 50 with a turkey baster. It does the same thing....

I'm not exactly sure why centripetal force would cause the beads to move to the lighter part of the wheel. Could work, could as likely be round snake oil. :-)

I've just been reading about these dyna beads on several web sites and all report good results using these things. Just type in dyna beads and see what you come up with. I'm due a set of rubbers this coming spring and I'm gonna give em a try. Yakima9, I think the slick 50 would react too slow because it has to spread whereas the beads being dry and round would react almost instantaneously with the tires rotation.

MCN did a unbiased review of them a while ago, pretty much said they were utterly worthless. Didn't do any harm, but didn't do anything good either.

Humm, first negative I've read about the "beads". Gonna be doing more research, they may just be smoke an mirrors. Thanx.
