    gutting exhaust

hey all just wanted to post that i gutted my exhaust and chose to remove all the pipes and internals .
and with this said my 2 cents is , if u can chose the non weld method ! shit i had a hard time getting the center bracket out that holds the pipes . the bottom was easy cause the welds were right on top but the first one i tried using a chisel and was just not fun , on the second one i cut the glass pack and drilled the rivets , a little bit easyer but when i re- wrap the the glass pack and shoved it down the pipe about a quarter of it slipped up and had to cut the exsess off . anyway i havent hered it yet cause the pipes are off to the welder for re-welding , so i hope the sound is worth the damm trouble lol . anyway knowing what i know now if i was to chose i would chose the easyer way of using a cutter wheel it cut the inside of the pipe ( the non- weld method ) .
now i know there will others out here saying it was a brezze but just wanted to post my 2 cents for the not so mechanicaly inclined ou there !

What exhaust did you have? On my 2000 vfr I gutted my stock exhaust and had no rivets or glass wrap. There's only 2 baffles in the stock can as well.

I gutted my 86 pipes but only removed the silencers and it sounds awesome now. Going to pick up my new scorpions tomorrow so i look forward to putting those on. I couldnt find any info on gutting the 86 model so I just used a sawzaw and cut the ends off both pipes. Pulled out the silencers and had a buddy weld them back on. A touch of black paint and I now have black tipped exhaust that sounds nice.
