Central/Northern Cali touring info wanted

i am planning to go to the GP next month. Riding up From LA. Stopping at Yosemite, Lake tahoe, then head south west to Laguna. After race if I have time I would like to see San Francisco area.

Would appreciate route and road suggestions, state parks, camping areas, ect.

Thanks,

Bikermike

I would sugest Mt Rose highway aka state route 431 between reno nv and inclince village nv, lake tahoe area, along with donner pass road between donner summit and truckee california, you would also have a nice time on 89 south of south lake tahoe aka monitor pass. There are a few more nice rides up here or around the lake tahoe area. Let me know when you are going to be up this way.

Mike when you come up through the central coast, you should hit hwy 58 at Margarita then 226 towards Creston. You could eat at the loading chute in Creston (great steaks!) then you could catch hwy 41 e towards Shandon and see where James Dean met his demise. That's just a short leg of the trip, but there are many more great roads. It's a great place to ride and hard to single them out, but those I mentioned are pretty good pavement and low crowds.

I'm always up for a ride. I'll grab my schedule and see how it looks that day...Ok, I'm off so I'll send you a pm with my phone number. Give me a yell and I'll ride along for at least some of your journey.
