That's the challenge of launching (or in this case re-launching) a new website. It takes a while for the gospel of VFRworld to spread. :-) Although there has been substantial traffic since we launched in December, I just know that there are a lot more VFR owners in the world that don't yet know about us!
I'm doing everything I can to get the word out. One of the challenges is getting the site properly indexed on the big search engines like Google and Yahoo. They are sending Bots to visit VFRworld every day, but so far not many of the new pages have been indexed, it just takes a while for the process to work. I definitely appreciate any help you guys can give to get the word out, such as posting links on other forums, etc. Overall, I'm very happy with the great group of guys (and girls!) that have been visiting the site regularly. I've been emailing with a number of you, and I think we're on track to make VFRworld one of the best VFR resources on the web! Thanks for everyone's support. Michael |

Michael,
I'm new to the VFR world group as of a few weeks ago. I've been a member of several other groups over the last few years and it is interesting to compare the levels of activity and the topics of discussion between the different groups. I owned an Audi Quattro 20 valve and joined their group for technical advice and experience as I rebuilt my car. I think due to the fact that the car is a major maintenance nightmare, the discussions were mainly focused on DIY activity. It was always busy! Over on the VFR forum (from Ontario) the discussions were focused on where to meet for coffee or what kind of helmet was on sale at XXXXX cycle! The coffee discussions quickly became booring and I don't really pay too much attention to their digests anymore. No offense to the Ontario group as I was born and raised there! (evasive manuvers captain) I think our bikes are just too darn reliable! They rarely break and don't really need much right out of the box to do a great job. Not much to discuss unless we start to modify our rides or plan a group ride. I just can't believe that there are ten million people in Chicago and none on this forum! I need someone to ride with. We also have a large group of subscribers that do not post for some reason?? I for one will do my best to stir up some good discussions and put in my 2cents on any threads that I can add to. I think the site is set up really nice and I really enjoy looking at the other members photos. Nice Job!!! Regards Brad Taylor Jethro911 |

Let's make site better!
I personally like the site. I prefer it to the SV site I've checked, most Harley sites, and a European VTR 250 site that I belong to.
Let's work together to make this site a place that we all want to visit. A note to all, if you ride, you'll eventually fall down. ![]() 95 VFR 97 Harley FXD 03 SV650 (for scratching) 90 VTR 250

Michael, Have you ever tried to organize a meet for VFR riders or anything like that. I myself have nobody to ride with most of the time and was hoping to find some people on this site to ride with. Maybe people just are'nt as friendly as they used to be....... FWB |

I moved a few posts to this new thread. Lets all spread the word to help this sight grow. friday night, someone came to me and offered $9K for my bike. I told him it was not for sale. We talked a bit and then he offered $12K. I told him it still was not for sale. Am I crazy? Maybe. But I love my Viffer and while I could probably find another, it would be different and even though I would probably like it, I like this one just fine. So call me crazy. Anyway, during our discussion I told him to look here as there are vfr's for sale from time to time. I saw a vfr today, I think it was a 6th gen, and had I known it was in amongst the bikes we were near, I would have gone and talked to the owner and directed them here. It's my fault for not checking out the other bikes. I blame me for that one. But I would like to see this site grow as I am sure Michael and other would as well. So pass the word. Make suggestions. Our ears are open.

I sent another VFR this way the other day. His was the question I asked regarding the FI indicator light and resetting it. Still no replies last time I checked. I figured Jethro would have the answer on that one...

Sadly..
I think this site suffers somewhat because there are already several excellent VFR forums, both in the US and the UK, and also S>T.net..

Hi Rogue, thank you for your comment. I realize (as i am sure Michael does as well) that there are a number of forums and that we face a challeng to make this one more popular. However, please keep in mind the S-T.net covers more than just VFR's. I also know that VFRD has a large number of international members as well as in the U.S. We are a growing site. But we are looking for ways to get the word out, not to find out why we aren't first on the search engine list. Currently, in a google search of "VFR Forums" we show up third on the list along with many other sites related to VFR content. That's not bad for a site that was revamped and relaunched. We also have 2,800 members and while not all of them are active at this time, they are still members. We would like to hear your suggestions as to how to help get the word out to other VFR Owners. So let's be positive and work together to get the word out.

I recently registered on VFD also, but I rarely visit there even though it is much more active. This site is catchin up as far as activity, and I like the feel of this site much more. The layout is much more pleasing to me.

There are so many people that I see on a daily bases that are riding VFR's... I am however yet to run into someone that is visible on VFRworld. They may be members but I don't know. There is a blue 5th gen out there that I want... if your reading this...
Anyways, I think we should develop WhiteKnight's bike decal idea. Here is the thread - VFR World.com decals and another... VFR decal I don't mind putting a classy decal on my windshield. Nothing is going on my paint though. A couple adds would be great too but they cost lots of $$$. We could get someone to do something really stupid and say "VFRworld made me do it", you would get in the news, a free ride in a police car, free accommodation for the night and VFRworld would be on the map baby!!
