Vfr800 (a, Fi)??

Can someone tell me what the difference is between VFR800 A and VFR800 FI? Is there any kind of mechanical difference? THanks!

I thought the FI stood for Fuel Injection. I know that all the 2002 and newer VFR's are fuel injected, but i don't know when they actually started fuel injection. I think it was 1999.

A denotes ABS. FI is everything else.
You'll pay more for an A.

All Vfr's From '02-'06 Are Fuel Injected (actually I Believe They Started Fuel Injection In 97 Or 98). From '02 - '06 You Have 2 Options When You Buy.....vfr800 And Vfr800a. The "a" Is For Abs.

And isn't it amazing that 5 years later the FI in an 03 is the worst ever!

Yep. '98 is the first year of FI (Fuel Injection), from '02 on you have the option of ABS which is the VFR 800A.

Didn't know that 1998 was the first year of fuel injection until after I bought the bike but here is an article comparing it to the VFR 750 from '97.
