Future Pacific Ocean HWY. 1 Ride

Just a feeler to see if anybody would be interested on this run. Maybe get at least 4 riders or more from the Pacific Northwest and do a HWY. 1 run down to San Luis Obispo next Spring or Summer and meet a couple of California and Oregon riders along the way.

I don't think you have lived the perfect motorcycle life until you have done that run. With the right planning on everybody's vacation "one week", it can be done and it will be a ride that will be remembered as one of the best rides of your life.

Rough Example on the early stages of planning...

Saturday... Leave Washington on Saturday and stay at a perfect little scenic place around the Oregon coast

Sunday... Mendocino. Now your into the best riding area in the world

Monday... Monterrey "great ride from Mendocino, most people only read of such a perfect day"

Tuesday...San Luis Obispo "short 2 1/2 hour ride of pure twistys, and most of the day to recover. Maybe Reg knows of a place to party!

Wednesday... San Francisco "speaks for itself"

Thursday... Ride North

Friday...Ride North or suck it up and get home

Saturday... Home with the family

Just a thought and it would not be very expensive staying two to a room or renting a cabin for a night depending on how many. It won't take very many people for me to make this trip happen and it will only take a week out of your life's. If your very lucky maybe you can talk the wife on going, No way in hell my wife would go on such a long trip, her max is about 150 miles.

I'm very new to the VFR forum but I always take one good trip a year on a bike with buddies and they usually turn out to be quite the ride we all talk about all year. So feedback please

Well, you know I'm up to ride at least partway with you. I can assist with routes around SLO county ranging from tight and technical to slow and scenic. We have beaches, small mountains, lakes, creeks, trees, flowers, and all that other scenic crap that goes by in a blur when I ride. ;) I have an extra room and room on the couch to boot. :) And I know bars ranging from seedy taverns to high class establishments (although I have never been in those i.e. The Carleton right here in good ole Atascadero)

I would definitely join from San Francisco down to SLO. My mom lives down there, and I'm sure she wouldn't complain about an extra visit. :-)

I'll be going from Vegas to LA for a visit, then taking the 1 to Santa Barbara for another visit, then S.B. to san Francisco for a visit, then back to Vegas. If our schedules match up then I'd definetly like to tag along from SLO to SF.

The event horizon for this is about 2-3 months depending on how much time it takes to prepare for the LA LV regional Burning Man.
