VFRD Down?

I just tried to get onto the VFRD site and it's dead as a doornail. Miguel said it was down until further notice due to some schmuck who keeps trying to infect with trojans. I had a LOT of customers on that site...any idea where we will be gathering up until Miguel finds the handle again? Here? Elsewhere? Bueller? Bueller?

I was on there last night and w/in 30 seconds of being on there my virus protection software went nuts, picked up and quarantined some sort of trojan virus...so, I'd say someone hacked the site.

This is crazy...I've NEVER had an issue with any sort of trojans on VFRD. What kind of virus protection are you guys using? Norton is packaged with virtually every copy of Windows so the hackers easily know the workarounds...it's almost a Windows extension. I have Kaspersky, not as well known so the workarounds aren't as plentiful for the script kiddies...and it updates 6x a day.

I just completed a scan, no problems.

I use AVG Antivirus at home and work uses the Corporate version of Norton AV. It sad though that someone feels the need to hack and attack the hard work of somone else that add to the enjoyment of others.

I use a free one called AVAST! but I haven't been on VFRD since earlier yesterday. I didn't notice anything then, though.

I think several of us go back and forth anyway. Sometimes I find what I need on there, sometimes here. This site is easier for me to keep up with, though.

Everyone is welcome!!!!!!!!! Homeless or not!!!!!

Just don't bring the hacker with ye..

My system siezed up two days ago and I had a hell of a time getting it cleaned out and running again. I was in the last ten minutes of two auctions an whammo, frozen stiff. I went nuts, ask my wife. I won them anyway thankfully but the suspense for three hours as I worked on the computer sucked.

I ask you, who benefits from that?

I had no problems but my wife did a scan and I had 12 viruses. Who does benefit from this? Is it just for fun?

Joe, All are welcome. And reg is right, some of us do go back and forth and there is nothing wrong with that. It's a big internet, or a small world, you decide. I think we all just want to share our love of all things VFR (and V-4), as well as motorcycling as well. I just think it is sad that hackers have nothing else to do but mess things up, not that that's what all hackers do, just a few "bad apples" in the bunch. Knowledge heps us all grow as a community.

I loved my 4th gen as well. I had an 83 VF750F that I purchased new in Japan and an 86 VFR750 that I purchased used in 1990. Then a 94 VFR750 that I bought while in Texas. I love V-4s but I don't think I will ever purchase a Vtec. Different strokes for different folks.

The best thing on 4 wheels is still 2 bikes!
