Most comfortable grips for 94-97 VFR?
Does anyone have any advice for upgrading to the most comfortable grips for 94-97 VFR? I heard about a guy installing 2 left hand BMW 1100S grips on his VFR but not sure of his year.

Superbike Gel grips on '97 aren't comfortable on long rides
The grips I have on my '97 are superbike ones and aren't that comfortable. I've never tried the stock ones though. I have to admit they do look plain and innocent like something you'd see on a scooter.

My favorite are the Pro Grip 669 gel grip - quite a few of my riding buddies use them too. We nick-named them the waffle grips because of the checker board pattern on the grip. I think you can see a pic in my gallery.

Them's the ones - the're pretty comfortable and have good feel too. I guess i've been hooked on them for about 7-8 years. I tryed the feel on a buddy bike and it was like - I got to order these now! In our little riding group of 4,
a '97vfr750, a zx9r, a tl1000 and me, we all have the grips also. - Silly shit, but bike comfort and ergos are my #1 pet peeve. BTW - I use a throttle rocker too. It's a big help with hand and wrist fatique |

you know, I have seen you guys talking about it and thought about getting one. I actually have a 'real' cruise control that came with the bike but the prior owner uninstalled cause he said he didnt think a bike should have cruise. i haven't installed it though.

hey guys, just finished upgrading my grips as well - had those terrible phome grips. Went for some Harri's Performance grips - great feel and less vibration to my hands - have found them really comfy on long rides - I just have the carbon fibre look but you can get specfic VFR ones - my dealer stocks them but check out www.lockitt.com/AccessoriesGrips2.htm
Also installed some Ballards heat pads underneath without any drama's for the winter and have to say on cold mornings I don't know how i lived without them - better then the bulky ones you buy as the don't streach the grip - hope this helps Tim |
