    Cheap And Safe Bodywork Fix

The PO told me that there was a hairline crack on the tail cowl on my 94 VFR. Last week, I came home and the piece was gone, leaving a triangular hole. The rest of the rear cowl is perfect, so I didn't want to buy a new one,($250.00+) and those I saw on Ebay were in worse shape than mine. I tried to think of a way to fix it, then hit upon this $4.00 solution, which has the added benefit of nighttime safety feature. Basically, it is red reflective tape, which matches the paint nearly perfectly. If it holds, I'll definitely be able to live with it for a long time. If it doesn't hold, well, I got four more strips of 4" X 9" refelctive red tape from a guy on Ebay. See what you think.

Thanks. Beats my initial ideas/prototypes, the two worst being the Coke Classic can trimmed and bent. Actually, the color was sort of close but I didn't want to give free advertising. (Not to mention the cheesiness of it.) There was also the piece of brittle, red plastic cover ripped off one of my sons old bicycle helmets. My wife had a good laugh at that one...
