NGK Iridium plugs
I just got done installing a set of NGK Iridium plugs in my 86' & after a test ride all I have to say is ....WOW
Definetly worth the $30 I paid for for them & has almost cleared up the slight stumble I've been experiencing between 7000 - 9000 RPM( I don't go there that often so not a big deal) I'm sure the almost undecernable hesitation that is still there is carb related. So if you haven't tried Iridium plugs yet or have been on the fence they do add a little kick in the pants & quicker throttle response.

Just an update on the Iridiuim plugs, after running 4 tank fulls of gas thru my mileage has improved. Instead of the low fuel idiot light coming on @ 180 miles it has come on between 195 & 205 , not much but I'll take a 7-10% gain in fuel economy

That's a great jump. Your old plugs must have been a mess.

Actually they all looked to burning fine all light brown in color & gapped more or less to spec.

hey tbones86, How many miles were on the old plugs? I just installed a new set of stock honda plugs , now I wish I bought a set of the iridiiums! However
if you had more than 8-10k miles on the old set I could see how you got such an improvement. |

I purchased the bike w/ 22K on it (I think) three years ago, plugs where replaced just after the 36K mark. So, roughly 14K that I know of I have no idea how long before that.

Hey Tbones; Thanks for your response, If those plugs had about 14k or so on them,at least in my book, they were probably pretty tired.I buttoned up my scooter today after changing plugs, didnt take it for a ride ,but seems to idle smoother and the slight miss that I had at about 3k rpm seemed to be gone. Of coarse the acid test is really going to be the ride! eddie cap
