What is it with cagers???

On my ride home from the gym tonight I had two cagers pull out in front of me only to have each of them drive under the speed limit.

1. I was the last car in a line of three. I leave about 3-4 car lengths between me and the car in front of me. Cager1 pulled out of a gas station and just had to squeeze in to the space in front of me (Nobody behind me as far as I can see). Then drove under the posted limit.

2. The final approach to my house is a twisty 2 mile section of freshly laid asphalt, then a 1 mile stretch of dirt road. I reach the twistys, no one in front or behind me, and hit the gas. Half a mile up the road cager2 pulls out in front of me. Not enough to make me slam on the brakes, but i had to let off the gas completely and then coast up the SUV. Tight twistys now, can't pass. This is a back road in Vermont with no lights on it and I had the beams on. To make matters worse, the SUV turned onto the same dirt road i was going to. Had to eat his dust for a mile

There, I feel better.

Nice to know I'm not the only one that gets behind the slowest cage on the road every set of twisties I get to!

On my 1st trip to the Dragon a few years ago, I had to follow a mini van CREEPING along. That idiot cager wouldn't pull over to save his life! Every time a place to pass would come there would be a line of oncoming traffic.
He had bikes backed up as far as I could see.

You're not alone for sure. I've ridden all over eastern 1/2 of the country, and have seen clueless, rude, and just plain stupid cagers who act like they're trying to cause a wreck. The other day an idiot cager pulled right over in my lane and caused me to take out the shoulder! When I got to where I could see, it was a young girl yacking away on a stupid cell phone. She didn't know I was in the world, muchless right beside her.

Here in NY cell phones are illegal while driving.

My new, all time favorite game to play while riding is something I like to call, Dodge the Lit, flying Cigarette Butt! So now along with looking for signs of people trying to put their cars were I currently am, and checking for semi-alert folks driving a 3 ton vehicle while yakking on the phone, I try to look for signs that someone is trying to chain smoke the last four drags on their butt before it goes out the window.

Dont forget about the windshield washer in front of you. Thats always fun. Especially if you don't have a lid on or your visor is up.

I honestly would not mind it if cell phone use was illegal while driving...for the driver I mean. Is it so hard to pull over to use a phone? I would do so if it was. We went without cell phones for years and years, and now if some joker cannot call their friend to say "'sup man, what's going on?" and shoot the shit, their day is shot to hell. What I guess bothers me most, is that some people can't actually do two things at once. If they are talking on their cell phone they are off in another world, and they don't hardly see the things around them. Gotta love the cagers that split across 5 lanes about 200 yards from the exit while yaking away on their cell phone (or not). It would be the end of the world if they had to wait another 10 seconds to get home, forget about the fact that they could cause accidents/injuries and/or deaths while doing so...that is irrelevant to them! I could go on and on, but why, it only upsets me more.

Where in Vermont, VTRIDER?

I rode with a guy on an '03 VFR VTEC non-ABS this morning for a few miles, then we split up when we hit Shelburne Rd. Wasn't you, was it?

Oh, and cagers suck.

yeah that game is fun... If they can get it in the open part of your jacket right at the top because it's 100 degrees out, they win a prize!

I recently saw a Harley rider going down the road with a cell phone in his ear - clutch side! OMG

Great snap.

At least he's wearing safety gloves in case enabling him to stop his helmetless head hitting the ground after plowing into a car while distracted on the Mobile...
