Odometer

Hey all, I just bought a new instrument cluster for my 84 500F, i was wondering if there is any way to roll back the odo on the gauge, being as my bike only has 32,000 Kms on it but the odo on the new gauge is at 192,000, any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.

FYI. On most places, tampering with an odometer is an offense. A declaration sticker is usually put on a vehicle to reflect its true mileage with a new or replaced odometer. This is in place to protect the consumer from shady people who roll back odometers to reflect lower mileage than what is really on the vehicle. So be cautious what you do.

yeah what he said.........I replace my odometer on my 86......it now has 22.000 miles on it TADA!!!!!!but I still have to declare that the miles indicated are no the true miles.... which was 68,000.... but then again the previous owner had the odometer statement as well so the actual miles are unknown....I'll go with the 22,000

besides, you only have to run the odometer forward like 40,00 miles to catch up...nothing wrong with doing that( on your bikethat is)
