Hello- Just got my Green 98!!!

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself... I just got my 1998 Green VFR.. although I have been a Honda Rider for years (CB550, Nighthawk, Shadow, CX 500) I finally got the bike I wanted most!!!

I do have a question for you VFR nuts out there...
I think my bike may be Canadian in orgin but I am not sure. I know the bike was repainted and that the green was not offered in Canada until '99.

Here is why I think it is Candian.....
The original owner lived right on the Washington-Canada border and the VIN#according to the Haynes Manual I have says it is a UK model. The bike also says VFR800FI-W, which is supposed to be another indicator of UK origin. Here is what puzzles me though: My speedo in MPH. Although it does have KPH, the MPH is clearly the dominant reading on the speedo. Does anyone know if the UK bikes have the same speedo anyways??

Thanks for any opinions and I look forward to riding with some of the Pacific Northwest VFR enthusiasts....

Congrats on the greeny. You should ride that thing proudly - it being a unique color in the states.

Personally I would love to have one of the blue 5th gens. They look soooo good, but my red one looks way faster. LOL.

Yep, I have had others try and teel me the same thing about the red. I guess that's why it is the Honda color of choice
