New to the forum and new to VFR

Hello everybody

I first like to introduce myself; I am 50+ years old and live in Oslo – Norway.

About 4 weeks ago I traded inn my tree years old TDM 900 ABS for a brand new VFR 800 ABS.
I did make a test drive before I bought the VFR, but didn’t then realise that I will have problems with the riding position. After a few days I also had sore wrists, back and neck.

I started searching the Internet for a solution to the problem, and came across this great forum.
I soon learned “all about“ bar raisers and aftermarket bars. I decided to buy me some Genmar raisers. They helped me a lot, the bike feels much better now.
I have decided to go all the way up and ordered me some Heli Bars today. They will arrive within the next 14 days. Very soon I will have Genmar raisers for sale.

I also got a lot of help from posts in this forum when installing:
Acumen Gear indicator
Garage door opener
GPS mount for TomTom Rider

And thank you to ottrod for his write up and pictures of the Heli Bar installation. I will certainly use it when I am installing mine.

The Dealer has installed hard bags and heated grips. My only concern now is to loosen the left heated grip – without destroying the heat element - when installing the Heli Bars.

Anyone did that before. I am very thankful for good tips.

Hello Aripet! Welcome to the forum!

Here is a helpful write up on the Acumen Gear Indicator by one of our members Benjammer.

Acumen Plug-In Gear Indicator

I believe that Benjammer and Y2Kviffer just did the helibar install recently as well, so drop them a PM (private message) or do some thread searching to find that info if you want.
