Hello from Minneapolis

I thought I would take a few moments to thank everyone for their help being relatively new to the VFR world and introduce myself.

I live in Minneapolis and I almost bought a VFR800 back in 1999 but passed and bought a 1999 Triumph Sprint ST. Great bike, no complaints. I sold it about a year ago and the only bike I had was my 1982 CB900F Supersport. I stumbled on a nice 1999 VFR with just over 5,000 miles on it and picked it up about 2 months ago.

Since then, I have gone through every aspect of it (all new fluids, filters, plugs, coolant, etc.). I took time to detail everything and replace a few parts. I upgraded to the mirrors from the 2001 and installed a zero gravity screen.

Unfortunately, 2 weeks ago, I tore my ACL playing soccer. I feel better now and just finished up all of the work on the VFR.

Alas, I decided to take one last 25 mile blast on it (couldn't go longer, knee too tight) and winterize everything now (it's only August) as I will be having surgery in the next 2-4 weeks.

I was pretty down for a while but I'm looking forward to getting things taken care of, rehabing, and moving on.

Here are some quick pics of my rides and thanks for everything!

Nice. Welcome aboard.
Plenty of time to polish her and pet her and dream about next season.
She won't let you down.

The bike looks great, King. It does suck to have to hold off riding, especially when you have such a nice looking bike in the garage, but it sounds like a good choice. I hurt my back a few years ago and had to most of a season of bicycling, but I'm glad I was patient because I'm back at 100% and the lost time is just a distant memory.
