Hello all. I have been reading your posts for advice for a few months, and figured I might as well join. I ride a 1995 VFR, and I moved up to the Viffer after riding 2 CBR600s. I needed a more comfortable bike for distance.
I've had my VFR for about a year now, and am buying a 2002 VFR with tons of extras in two days. I'll post some pics of my '95 soon, and my '02 as soon as I pick it up.
sounds good... we're gonna be holding you to theose pics! lol
Thanks for the welcome.

yes...definately...before and after pics...![]()
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. that way, when you judge him, your a mile further away and you have his shoes...

Here's a pic of my new girl. My 1995 Viffer is in the background. I'll add some more pics of both when I get home. Already put 450 miles on her in less than 24 hours.
It is the most perfectly modified VFR I have ever seen, and she's all mine! I'm super happy. So amazingly comfortable, and so smooth, it's sick. I'll update the stats on the mods when I'm off this weekend. She has a lot. I'll be selling my '95 viffer to some lucky rider soon. It'll be on craigslist this weekend, so she'll get a fresh bath too. For now, I own two. I hafta sell my '95 though, you know how girls are. They don't share, so they'll end up fighting.
I can't resize the pic until I get home so i don't think it will work yet, so I'll put the links to the pics on photobucket on here too. See them below:

nice! looks great!
you gonna do something about those passenger grab handles?
lol!!
You mean the shiny metal ones on my '95, or the reversed ones on my new bike? I like them like that, they are much easier for my passenger to use, and they don't get in my way when I'm by myself.

Welcome and congratulations! Bet you can't wipe that smile off your face! Ride safe.![]()

Welcome! I find the hard bags so useful, and I think they look good!

I love the way it's set up. Red Rocket Racing out of Cali has done all the engine refinements, the Leo Vince exhaust, and the front and rear suspension. It rides like an absolute dream.
So much smoother than my '95. I'm spoiled now. My girl likes the new ride too. She says "The hard bags will hold so many shoes!"
Thanks for the warm welcome!
Congrats on the new-to-you bike, and welcome. What part of Oregon are you in?

Welcome aboard.

I'm on the central coast. Newport, Lincoln City area. Lots of good twisty highways here.
I lived in the Eugene/Veneta area for a while, and made several treks up through Corvalis and out towards your neighborhood. I could never decide whether it was more fun to enjoy the roads, or slow down and enjoy the scenery...
When the tourists are not wall to wall, it's really nice. They're only mucking up hwy 101 anyway. The sections of unused highways and back roads are very nice.
Here's a list of the mods on my 02:
4" helis, Red Rocket Racing suspension front and back, Oxford heated grips, color matched Givi hard cases, Leo Vince exhaust, fog lights, 12v plug in dash, tinted windscreen.
I know some guys put it in their signature. Is that what I'm supposed to do?
That's funny! I was going to ask if Highway 20 was even drivable at this point. It was Motorhome Central 15 years ago. Highway 126 (Eugene to Florence) was just as bad.
Where I live now is worse during the summer months. I seem to have an affinity for rural areas on the wrong side of tourist destinations.![]()
Welcome! Have been a bit of a lurker on here myself. Working on fixing that. Great bunch of people on here. Tons of knowledge, and always willing to help a Viffer rider. Congrats on the new ride![]()
Dunno. That's what the last owner had put on. I can take a pic in the a.m. I've never had risers on my bikes before, so I have to rely upon what the previous owner told me. I'll send you a pic, or a link to a pic and you can tell me if I'm misinformed about what is on my bike. For now, a little sleepy time.
I've gotta get some early riding in tomorrow. My weather forcast looks pretty rainy for the next week+
huh... looks comfy
do you have any clearance issues? like when turning full lock to full lock?
No clearance issues at all. And yes, they're hecka cozy. Just hafta stretch the old knees out a bit now and then on a long ride, but my back, shoulders, wrists, everything is comfy. I used to get a wicked crampy pain under my left shoulder blade on long rides on my '95 viffer. No problems on this one. Did almost 500 miles in the first 24 hours I had her.
Entry,
Welcome aboard.
Did you know that there is a foot peg lowering kit available?
Take a look . . .
Foot Peg Lowering Kit. Wild Hair Accessories. Motorcycle Accessories & Aftermarket European Parts.
I have lowered the pegs on my '98 by about 1.5 inches and it makes a big difference on my old knees.
There is more information somewhere on this site about lower foot pegs.
Carry On ~
