Wheel Rims

Hi,
I am wanting to change the color of my 2007 Tri-Color rims to White, does anyone know what finish is on the rims from factory? & what is best - Powder Coating or Two Pack Paint for rims? - Thanks

Hello and welcome to the madness! Never heard about "two-pack" paint, but powder coating is one of the more rugged and durable finishes.

Powdercoating is the best way to go because it'll survive the harsh tire changes, rocks, etc... It's already a kind of a pain in the butt to take the wheels off so you might as well take the time to do it right.

Everyone that I know powder coats the rims. The only time I know people to paint rims is if they decide to do a stripe.

Thanks for your replies.
Over here (in Oz) powder coating is the cheap option and the only white is Pearl White. I have been searching the forums & it seems the you can color match powder coat in the U.S. ? Something you can't get done here. Two pack paint is what is used to paint cars & is baked to produce a hard finish, most car rims are painted this way. I still haven't worked out what the original finish is on the rims, is it Powder Coat? Just a thought Powder Coating over here is basically baked on Plastic, are we talking about the same finish?
