First Time Rider, just got 98 VFR
Hey this is nate here in Savannah, Georgia..... decided on a 98 VFR for my first bike. I am taking the MSF course in September (earliest I could get in) and for now I'm just riding short distances on my rural road w/ my temp license. I've only been out a few times and am still pretty bad at shifting and feel pretty uncomfortable overall at this point, lol. Here is a pic of it, any advice/tips would be awesome!

Thanks man, I appreciate it...the only thing that worries me right now is I want to take it in for some maintainence (oil change, fork seal) but the shop is quite far away and would take me thru some busy highways which I'm not ready for yet! Wishing I had a truck now! haha

Welcome to the club.
That's a nice looking bike. As you gain experience and put more time in on the bike you will become more comfortable with it. Just remember to ride within your limits. Changing the oil, at least onh my 93, is pretty straight forward and simple as well. If you have changed the oil on a car, you should have no problems on the VFR. |
