Hi and welcome to the group. I hear the vfr400's are pretty cool. There are a lot of helpful folk here as well as lots of good info is contained in the forums and even some in the Texas VFR Garage (which I am still exploring myself).

What you're gonna hear from just about everyone: if you're new to biking and you haven't done so, take the Motorcycle Safety Course! My wife and daughter did and they are now awesome riders! Also, ask around if someone has a manual for your machine (in case you don't already have one). By your intro, you seem to have all the motivation you need to make this love affair go the distance! And some day, you're gonna wanna move up to the big VFRs... if you like the 400 sound, you'll love the 800's!

Welcome to the group and to echo the previous statement - no insult to ya but truly consider taking the MSF course. It is receommended that even people who know how to ride to take the MSF course. I was able to use the MSF certificate to get a small discount on my insurance. Last year I became a Lee Parks ARC coach and I can definately tell you that one day with a rider coach can help you learn a lot and correct some bad habits. Enjoy the bike and be safe!!!
