An alternative way to mount Cortech Tail Bag
My tank bag almost departed the bike at near triple digit speed last weekend so I decided to go with a tail bag instead. I liked the looks of the Cortech Sport Tail bag and ordered one from Newenough. I received the bag this weekend and like a lot of six gen guys I wasn't real happy with having to run straps over the body work. Here is what I came up with instead.
I ran two straps I had (they're 2.50 @ REI) under the seat. I made sure the front one could not slide back and loosen up. ![]() ![]() You could just run the straps over the bottom flap of the tank bag and ride that way. The Bottom flap Velcros to the front. I wanted a little extra security so I took the hooks off the bungee cords and tied them together. ![]() I then ran the straps over the bungee cords and the bottom flap. Tightened down the straps and secured the excess strap. ![]() I took it out for a "test ride" this afternoon and I works great! I didn't feel it at all and it stayed put at high speeds. We'll see how it holds up over time but at the moment I'm happy. I also like the fact that if I want to take it off the bike all I have to do is reach between the bottom of the bag and the bottom flap then release the two clips. Action

That's awesome, Action. I'm going to try this out, I've been trying different options but haven't really been happy with them.
Thanks!

Looks nice Action! I was thinking of picking up one of those Cortech Tailbags myself. Looks pretty clean the way you mounted it.
