Frame heating up

I bought a 93 750F which had not been operated for more than 10 years. Its tuned, the fuel system cleaned and the carbs rebuilt. Seems to ride well but I'm nes to this type of bike. When I've ridden it for 30 miles or so on the highway the frame beside my right calf really heats up! It would burn my skin if I touched it. Should I expect it to get that hot? John

Hey mate, I had the same thing going on with my 93, The guy had not been riding it much and the frame would get to hot to touch. I am throwing on a 94 97 pipe system on it as its not as bulky as the 93 ( you wont have that massive chamber bottom left of the bike like on the 93 system). I also have been told that the frame will heat up due to the very complex cooling system in this motor if the cooling system is not to par this could also be a cause.

hard to say if it should be that hot, but my right calf burns a bit if I don't wear riding pants so I rearely ride anywhere without them. maybe just a short jaunt to the grocery store which is less than a mile or so. my bike is a 98 but the pipes and cooling system are similar due to the v4 pipe routing.

This is completely normal for 3rd Gens. I have two and they both get very hot especially on the right side. Look at the bright side, your right ass cheek and thigh will stay warm on winter rides

P.S. - If you are still running the stock R/R unit you may consider swapping it out since the stock unit gets much hotter and appears to transfers alot of heat to the subframe. I swapped mine out and it got a little better but the frame still gets very hot.
