95 VFR 750 --- (Pic can be found in search with "MAD MAX" rewireing)
I'm looking at removing the "Stock" front end & considering going for a Upsidedown conversion,
I'm wondering if anyone has done it before ,
I've seen a GSX-R 750 conversion but I couldn't get any Technical Info,
I'm aware of fabricating the "Yoke Assembly" with C&C, I need info on controls, types of bike front ends that can be adapted ? (any model - Honda, Ducati)
Any info or Ideas would be greatly appreiciated !
Has been done using RC51 legs too. Believe Douglasthecook has em. beside a few others like safe-T and veefer800canuck, did I spell that right? So many little things to it. only really tricky part I've read and found is the oil cooler is in the way so some actually bend it to get it to clear. Me? I'm wondering if there is really that much to be gained, less the brakes of course. still have it the back of my mind to do if......
The oil cooler can be placed anyware, after the hoses are made up.
In regards to "What is gained"
The front end had been damaged & is now worn enough to require replacement or heavy repair bills, & the main gain is the complete adjustabilty to tune to my riding style,
As much of my riding is done through mountain roads inwhich are in very poor conditions (pot holes the size of cows, rippled corners & ROAD KILL-PRE or POST kill!) while upgradeing to modern technology & trying to maintain serviceability ie: fork seals ,pads & rotors etc.
I suppose there sports tourers maybe I'm riding it too hard :)
If you still have stock internals and valving, riding it to the corner store is riding it too hard..........![]()
Right Fork tube bent & repaired including seals 3500 km's ago,
now worn past NITRIDE coating (massive grooves) leaking profusely& has emolsufied (rain)!
Stock is really not an option
