    Custom Gen 5 highmount exhaust

I wasn't sure if I wanted to go left side mount or high mound but high mount seemed to be easier and in case anything went wrong I am still able to switch back to my stock pipe. I started by taking the bike to a local exhaust shop to have them bend a 2" stainless pipe since I have no way of bending stainless exhaust pipe. When I got home I started looking for cans online, as I was walking around our shop I saw a submersible well pump they are stainless steel and are about 3 7/8" round that is the second and third picture also inside a pump are impellers that actually push the water up the pipe so I used there covers for my end covers I just bored them out to 2 inch. I set up the exhaust and welded a piece of 1/4" stainless right where the stock exhaust mounts I used the spacers from my center stand as spacers for the exhaust they were perfect. I put about 40 or so holes in the pipe then welded the end cap to the can and then to the pipe on the back side packed the can with fiberglass and screwed the other end cap on so I can still remove it and repack the can if needed. Let me know what you guys think.

Nice work! I like it and I am not usualy big on th ehigh mounts because i think they normaly make the tail section look even biger than it is but yours seems to fit with a smaller pipe and I like the plumbing on the way up! Good job! How about some sound clips and if posible dyno prints?

    Brothers high mount.

It sounds good. I fugure little brother's I-phone might be able to record it and he has a better chance of success than i do, but for one I think it turned out great from a bunch of scrap!

How did they know how to bend the pipe correctly? My muffler shop wants me to make a mold of what it will look like. Out of flex pipe or something. It's annoying.

Top fuel drag HA HA, Not quite that loud there are plenty of harley's out there that make my bike sound like a field mouse, that would be annoying JT, I actually stood there as they bent it and showed and told them bend by bend how I wanted it and it took maybe a half an hour, you should see if your exhaust shop would let you do that.
