    Advice for VFR commuter

I am going to be doing 60 miles round trip on daily on the freeway. I need heated grips, heated vest would be nice, and a tall windscreen. What is recommended?

Also, what is best exhaust? Do any mods on VFR actually increase performance much or is this bike maxed out from the factor? Looking at buying the 25th Anniv. model used.

    I accelerate therefore I am!

id say the best performance gain is from a power commander and a good tune.
if you want to squeeze every pony outa the bike, you can get a slip on of your choice, a motad header, air filter and pull the snorkel and flapper outa the air box. after all that, strap your bike on the dyno and have it tuned. if you want ill let you sample my map as a starting point for the tune...
ive got the zero gravity sport touring screen. it wont turn your bike into a full on tourer, the wind still hits your helmet, but it is better than stock and will give you the ability to easily duck down out of the wind/weather if you need to.
as for all the heated goodies, due to my location, im clueless on these lol...

Kind of a shameless plug here since I have some association with the company. Good stuff for keeping warm. "Gerbings."

If it's really nippy out, a jacket liner with the wiring in the sleeves and the collar is nice.

One tip that is sort of missed when folks buy heated garments is that the sensor/rheostat should be reading ambient. Tucked away in a pocket is not a good thing.

    hello all.
i had hot grips on my 929 and loved them... waiting to get helibars on my vfr to put heated grips on it.

the only down side to heated grips is the back of tha hand is still cold along w/ the pinky fingers.....some times the thumb gets cold too.

hot grips have 2 temp settings so they are still awesome on a 50 degree morning so you can still wear lighter gloves for the warmer ride home.....

+1 on the Zero Gravity ST screen and the Gerbings Jacket liner. I also have a pair of their G3 gloves which connect through connectors on the jacket sleeves and are very nice even not plugged in.
