How hard were they to fit? Do it yourself?

Also, which auction did you use? There seem to be several ebay outfits that offer them.

I am curious about the quality of the plastic. Is it the same thickness and durability of the original?

+1 The repsol looks good, but that whole theme has been over played. The minolta looks good and is unique.

    Looking Good ZonaMan!

I like it. It really warms my heart to see any VFR done up in Racing livery no matter what paint scheme it is. I've always wanted to do up a VFR in the Colin Edwards RWB Laguna Seca WSBK Racing livery myself, and after seeing the pics of your bike I'm really gonna hafta get me an old 5th gen. and do that one of these days.

Are those ABS plastic fairings? Did you have any fitment issues? Did you paint the gas tank? Is this the same machine you posted up pics with the Red rims a few weeks?

Sorry for the 20 questions ZonaMan.,but I'm still looking at the pics of your bike and I'm pumped!

I had a mechanic friend put them on because he had done a set before on a Gixxer1000. He reinforced all the tabs with a plastic weld so they won't break off (he learned the hard way). He also had to bend my upper cowl stay a little because of an accident I had. I removed both lower side fairings over the weekend to Install Radar's (VFRD) sliders and they were no more of a PIA than normal. Some of the holes don't line up perfectly, but neither do the OEM ones.

I was told that most of the ebay sellers are actually ONE outfit. Just a bunch of guys sitting in a room on computers selling things for a supplier. I got mine from Timmy66666 and they were to my house in 10 DAYS!

Timmy66666 was my supplier. My tank and seat cowl were painted by a friend who is a master painter. The tank decals are from Alloutgraphics.com.

Overplayed? As far as I know, I am the only person in AZ (maybe even West of the Mississippi) with a Repsol VFR!

Life's journey isn't to arrive at the grave in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out shouting 'Holy Shit what a Ride'!!!

Saw an RC51 in that livery last summer. All hand painted and pinstriped. Talk about sweet.

I'm not talking about repsol VFR's, they are rare indeed. I was just talking about Repsol bikes in general.
