I am soon to be 43 and pretty much nowAdayz, when I ride (99% of the time) I wear approved gear: Icon Superduty4 boots, "Sliders" Kevlar pants(x4) w/CE knee pads, a S&S Mesh jacket and 2 sets of gloves (shorties & gauntlet), and of course my Bell helmet.

I began riding while stationed in Augusta, GA/Fort Gordon (96) and the only "gear" I had was a helmet. I crashed my 1st bike (Ninja 250) fortunately it was cold out so I had on jacket, pants, gloves, but all that was "basic clothing" except for the free Fulmer helmet I got with the bike but I still lost skin and tore my clothes all to Hell; I can still remember the ER nurse scrubbing my arms and leg -OUCH!!! I kept on riding though and moved up to a faster bike (FZR 600). I bought a new Bieffe helmet and some true Motogloves: Olympia Gauntlets. I can remember screaming down the Hwy 90+ wearing shorts and a tank top - I wont do that anymore.

I had a long (BIKELESS) hiatus & finally own again. Part of the "Agreement" for me to ride now was that I had to be careful & protected. A lot has changed since 1996 and honestly, I am glad for all the new gear choices. So far I have only ridden my bike one time without the "All the Gear" and that was a short trip to the neighborhood strip mall
